Comment on China’s Impending Problems

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 22, 2011

Comment from Brewskie. Also Brew did you know the government subsidizes electricity so we pay almost nothing. Its all a political game but this fact also has the effect of subsidizing production.

The point of history: Learn from its mistakes so you don’t repeat them. The great “mistake on the lake” (actually that’s a reference to Cleveland, but I’m using it for environmental purposes) in the US in the ’70s is where poor Lake Erie was so polluted, it caught on fire. Do Americans remember this? No, we can’t even remember the moon landing (our important news of the day is Kim Kardashian’s boobs). What does that make the Yangtze? I read earlier officials are worried it’s turning into the world’s largest “sewage system.” – half of China’s chemical plants are stationed along it. Yikes!

Anyway, did a little reading about power shortages in China, and found out (a) hydropower dropped 25% year-on-year in September, and (b) power shortages are expected this winter in China.

I know the government price controls are hampering power companies, which are hemorrhaging money, and are hurting consumers too with sporadic power outages. Something’s gotta change.

Back to learning from others’ mistakes: Don’t try this at home: Herman Cain’s proposed 9-9-9 tax. So, we’re going to help the country by drastically cutting taxes for the rich, therefore drastically increasing the deficit, and help the poor by boosting their gasoline and grocery bills?

Only in America…

Chinese Girls Sells Body For Iphone

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 22, 2011

reposting this for wordpress cut off a part when I emailed it….

Ahh the immorality of it all. A while back a Chinese guy offered up his spare kidney for an Ipad, he has two after all, and before that a Chinese woman wanted to trade her cherry for the same thing. And now I have just read that a college student has offered herself up for months of sex all for a new Iphone (here). It turns out that college student was caught by her boyfriend, as she offered up her ‘junk’ to some guy over china’s ‘weibo’- a microblog knockoff. After reading the article, I then considered it- read as ‘snapped one off’ and then ran out to purchase an Ipone 4S. And then analyzed this in terms of China today.
.

The girl in question does not want any old Iphone, but the new Iphone 4s which retails for 199-399 back home (with plan). But the 16 gig version will go for U$1,100 here. I cannot fathom the moral depravity of a society and a woman who will sell her lithe young body to any man who need only be equipped with a cell phone, of all things.

But I fear that the moral decay that has seeped into the bones of China has once again reared its ugly head. The Chinese society today has looked for monetary rewards to fight emotional woes and the results are sad.

I could go on and on about the consequences of this type of thing but fear it is of little use. Absent a change in mindset, the locals are doomed to a life of quick pleasure and inner chasm of despair.

That is all I have to say for now as I need to go sign up for a Weibo account.

Marx Says Chinese a People of “Incomparable Dishonesty”

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 16, 2011

The Chinese like to hide their history, recent history that is. Sure they want to talk about some fat little no nut eunuchs and their leaders who after visiting the ‘man hut’ allowed them to roam the land with impunity. But the recent history to the Chinese is verboten. I guess it makes sense for who wants to discuss how they ate the flesh of each others children to survive in the late 50s or how they beat and killed one another over Mao love.
Some people whom I would call ‘idiots’. say that the problem with the Chinese and their lack of morals is a recent thing. (Actually I would not call them idiots but ill informed.)
But if and when one reads a book, they find that no, the China man of today is no different than the gazillions who precededcorruption in China them. Below we have a quote from Marx who captures what many say of the Chinese of today.

As Marx bit the dust way before the communist revolution in China in ’49, it is doubtful that he witnessed their behaviour then. In addition, he did not experience the madness of the early 20th century so that too was not the problem. Hmmm he calls them incomparably dishonest. And this he said some 160 years ago. My My how the country of China has not changed.

from
The Writing on the Wall (Will Hutton)

The German sociologist Max Weber criticized the Chinese for “incomparable dishonesty,” “absolute docility,” and “distrust for one another,” which, together with their lack of the Protestant incentive of a virtuous afterlife earned by saving and hard work, condemned China to economic backwardness.2

“Peaceful China” – Suck On This

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 16, 2011

China is a peaceful country, unless one looks to the west… here is a quote from this book
The Writing on the Wall (Will Hutton)

China doubled its land area by conquest under the Qing in the eighteenth century, one of the great imperial landgrabs in history,5

No Moral Compass, a Problem With China Today

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 15, 2011

China has many challenges, both environmental and political. Another issue they have is the gaping hole in the place where morality should be. The Chinese have transplanted money worship for anything resembling a higher power and its impact is quite obvious.
One of the ways in which this manifests itself is that the Chinese will unceasingly compare themselves to one another. They always want to see who has a more expensive Iphone or house or car. Now before you say that Joe Bob Dingeir from Muscatine does the same thing, I ‘d remind you to remain mute for yes that may be true but everything is relative. And relatively speaking, the Chinese are the most catty/disengenuous people vz their attempting to better one another in all things possible.
To me its not as big of an issue as I am a foreigner so the chinese cannot and do not attempt to compare.

Another Day Another Oil Spill in China

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 15, 2011

China should stay away from producing things like : engines, fireworks, appliances, nuclear facilities, milk, vegetables, basically anything that has an impact on our lives. As proof of this assertion, it has been reported that China has another oil spill. As the company responsible is an SOE or run by the communists, we will never truly know how horrible it is.
The Chinese need a baby sitter.

Death by China and Innovation

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 6, 2011

From the author of Death By China
“”It is simply impossible to base our nation’s future on ideas, when ideas are systematically repressed and methodically stolen by a powerful and immoral tyranny masquerading as our trading partner.”

China Using Experimental Medicine on Africans?

Posted by wtdevflnt on October 4, 2011

China is colonizing Africa now and this is the sort of thing that we can expect from a country such as China. The following is from Wikileaks
here:
“For instance, in January 2010, the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda (Sun Heping) delivered 240,000 doses of two Chinese anti-malaria drugs to Uganda at a public event that was featured in large paid advertisements in local papers,” wrote Mr Lanier, who added: “It was later revealed that one of the drugs, Arco, had not been pre-qualified by the World Health Organisation, and that part of the funding for the malaria clinic in Mulago Hospital was earmarked for testing of these drugs.”
