Protesting in China- A lot

As of 2005, on the average, there are over 210 protests per day in China (from a book China, Fragile Superpower). Also that year, over 3.5 million people took part in those protests.

Boring TV in China

You Know I was doing my penance- watching state sponsored TV here, lately, and noticed how horrendous it was. Shows about dynasties from times gone by, fighting the Japanese and such. Then it hit me, they show those things as they are playing it safe. If they show strife in the times of the Qing dynasty, it is politically safe, no one will be offended. So, that is what they do, whitewash history, show only the good, deny the bad- makes for some pretty shitty TV.

The Chinese military has just set up; a new website. There are many rumors of China’s attempts at computer espionage and such, and closely monitoring anythiung that has to do with State security. so imagine how much they monitor this site and log ip’s of visitors- pretty scary, so I decided to take a stroll through it. As far as I can tell, the site is all in Chinese, it has a ton of photos, all of which show fine young men and women performing tasks like little boy scouts- total propaganda bs. much like our army’s site- but ours has more cache. Anyway, I found this cartoon, i don’t know what it means, probably is something like
