Chinese are Grazers

Posted by w_thames_the_d on March 13, 2010

For instance, they will eat hearty meals, but also they snack. The difference is that they snack on seeds, nuts etc. that is probably why they dont get fat. We for instance will engorge ourselves and then top it off with some chips and a coke. For the most part, they snack on healthy shit and avoid carbonated beverages. The young ones, however- 12 and under, are getting to be a little pudgy from the Mickey D’s etc.

Brainwashing in China-

Posted by w_thames_the_d on March 13, 2010

Most educated Chinese have good net access, and have work-arounds for the great firewall, ie. proxies, and for the most part understand a lot of the shenanigans that the government is up to. I guess they just dont like to hear foreigners putting it in their faces. For instance your good Chinese friends will be very open about the failings of the Chicoms, but in public they wont say this.

Chinese Stripping in the Street to Get a Husband- Women Take it Off Get a Man

Posted by w_thames_the_d on March 13, 2010

WTF?? Ladies stripping in the street looking for a hubby, and I though Japan was bizarre. Oh, and isnt Guandgong the home of all those recent drug scandals. Hm, drugs, stripping, maybe China is going democratic. This brings new meaning to the ‘opening up policy…”

No Porn No Gore in Chinese Movies- Unless Japan is Involved

Posted by w_thames_the_d on March 13, 2010

I just watched a good Taiwanese movie- Manga. It was about a kid who grew up with no dad and became a gangster. The storyline was in Chinese so it was translated to me, it was actually pretty good.

The problem is that in the mainland they will not allow its release. It glorifies the thug life, violence etc. So in China they dont allow films that are too sexual or violent , unless of course it is about the battles with Japan. Those are the only gory movies I have seen.

Chinese Culture- School

Posted by w_thames_the_d on March 13, 2010

Chinese parents pressure their kids much more than ours. The kids typically learn some type of musical instrument as well as languages in their free time. They hate it but the parents demand it. They know western HS rocks, but they are stuck here.
