Cost of Life in China- U$400

U$400 is about what it amounted to for Ju Xianhua, he took about U$40,000 in bribes and allowed a vaccine company, allegedly, to skirt the laws and produce a vaccine that killed 100 people.

China Promotes “Just” law Enforcement

This is typical, an  official in China will come up with a great idea like promoting the rule of law, or just law enforcement, the papers will print it, and nothing really changes.

“BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) — Senior Chinese leader Zhou Yongkang has urged law enforcement departments at all levels to ensure their work practices are just and incorrupt to better solve social conflicts and uphold justice.

“Currently, our country is experiencing a period when social conflicts are prominent and more and more cases have emerged in the judicial field,” Zhou told a plenary meeting for the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee here Monday.

“More people are expecting to protect their own rights through judicial channels and they also have a higher requirement for just law enforcement,” said Zhou, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Chinese couple Sell Newborn, Buy Cell Phone With the Cash

A couple from the Sichuan province sold a newborn and with the cash bought a cell phone. The two sold the child for around U$366, but then the woman had a change of heart when the mom said she missed the child to much.

The couple informed the police and caught Li Yong trying to sell the baby for about U$ 1464. The man was apprehended.

Chongqing Company Makes you Payback Gifts if You Divorce

A company in China has said that all employees must agree to the following,”

” Chongqing, Chongqing, Austria-chi Mechanical & Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. announced at a staff meeting new regulations, so that many employees talking about: If you are married have to ask my colleagues, please any agreement be signed to ensure that marriage is a prudent choice, once the divorce , double refund of gift money.”

The translation is that if you marry, and receive gifts from your colleagues, and then divorce, you must pay them back double the price of the gift!
