Chinese Ugly KFC and McDonalds mashup.. Twice the Illegality in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 12, 2010

from here:

Japan Probe has a news video about a Chinese restaurant called MFC that borrows the look and feel of McDonald’s and KFC, mashing them together. The video is in Japanese, but it’s fun to watch even for non-Japanese speakers.

Picture 12-9 Main Points:

• A fast food restaurant called MFC combines the Chinese characters for McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken, crudely combining the menus of both chains.

• Our brave reporter tries a chicken burger and determines it is less tasty than what he could eat at McDonald’s.

• MFC’s homepage states it was started in America during the 1960s. However, when their reporter calls the company they are told it was founded in China 7 years ago.

• There is something that looks like a Beijing Olympics logo on their menu. However, their phone interview finds that MFC is not an official sponsor of the Olympic games.

• The best part of the report? MFC’s spokeswoman responds to their questioning with something along the lines of, “We don’t have any stores in Japan, so what’s your problem?”

Chinese Say Chinese Companies Suck, Prefer Western Companies

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 12, 2010

For all of the nationalistic bullshit in China, they sure love foreign firms. According to the chinadaily, about 42% of the people working for Chinese companies want to go to a foreign one. This is not surprising, in China, they treat employees horribly, no respect, low pay, overwork and potentially issues of sexual intimidation.

“BEIJING, April 12 — A new survey shows that about 42 percent of private enterprise employees looking to change jobs would rather work for foreign-funded businesses.

Workers in the private sector seem to be the most active job-hoppers, with 64.5 percent of them saying they are considering changing jobs, according to the survey by Zhaopin.com, one of the largest human resources service providers in China.

Welcome to the Chinese Spy Museum- Unless you are a foreigner

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 12, 2010

No shit, what nationalism, they will stop foreigners from entering even though this shit is decades old…

“ASSOCIATED PRESS BEIJING — A new Chinese spy museum exhibits guns disguised as lipstick, hollowed-out coins used to conceal documents and maps hidden as a deck of cards.

What you won’t find there, however, are foreigners.

A sign outside the Jiangsu National Security Education Museum in a park in the eastern city of Nanjing states that only Chinese citizens are allowed inside, a policy designed to keep the communist regime’s cloak and dagger methods secret — no matter how timeworn they may be.

“We don’t want such sensitive spy information to be exposed to foreigners, so they are not allowed to enter,” a spokeswoman for the museum, who would only give her surname as Qian, told The Associated Press by telephone”
