China’s Boy Crisis- Girlie Men in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 13, 2010

More on this later, but China is experiencing a ‘boy crisis’. What this means, according to Chinese experts is that the new generation of Chinese boys is quite effeminate. They have a loower testosterone level, and are physically and emotionally less stable than their female counterparts.
i can see it, after working here for a few years, it makes sense. Also it could be mother natures way of evening it all, out. It is like mother nature says if you want to have 117 boys for every 100 girls, then we must emasculate many of them or things will get dangerous.

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 13, 2010

Two more people were stabbed in China. Now I know why all my Chinese friends are shocked that in the states we can buy guns, based upon the level of violence in this Country (I mean personal assaults), can you imagine if they had real firepower? Jackie Chan said that they cannot handle freedom.
chinadaily

“HEPU, Guangxi – A man stabbed to death an 8-year-old boy and a 70-year-old woman on Monday afternoon near a primary school in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, police said.Yang Jiaqin, the knife-wielding suspect, who is around 40 years old, also injured five other people – two boys, aged 7 and 12, a 7-year-old girl and a couple in their 30s – at 4:30 pm, only 400 meters from the Xizhen Primary School in Xichang town, Hepu county, according to the police. After the police were reported to have captured a middle-aged man, the publicity department of Beihai said the suspected murderer is a mental patient, who chased and struck out at passers-by after the school had closed.

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 13, 2010

The man that police claimed died in custody while playing hide-and-seek was the victim of a vicious assault by another prisoner, prosecutors said on Friday.

Chicom Control- Dump Sane Man in Mental Institute as He was Filming a Protest

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 13, 2010

China is like ‘One flew over the cuckoos nest’ . This place is out of control at times, at least for the locals, they actually are hands off with most foreigners.

He was caught clicking photographs of a protest, according to news report BEIJING – Police in Central China’s Hubei province have been accused of dumping a sane man in a mental hospital because he was taking photographs of a protest last Friday.

Peng Baoquan, 47, a banker by profession, saw a group of 20 company employees protesting outside a hotel in Shiyan city, where some provincial discipline inspection officials were lodged, the Guangzhou-based Yangcheng Evening News reported.

Peng had only clicked a few pictures of the group before the police caught him and took him to the police station, the report said, adding that the banker was then admitted to a local mental hospital later that night.

Insisting Peng is “not mentally ill”, his family on Monday demanded that he be released immediately. However, the police and the hospital have yet to set Peng free.

“At first, they (the hospital) didn’t let us see him, saying there is a rule that new patients can only be visited after a week,” Peng Xiumin, Peng Baoquan’s sister told China Daily.

“But I managed to get in with another patient’s family and saw my brother.”

Peng Xiumin said her brother was staying in a ward with several other patients. “He was calm and used my cell phone to talk to his friend,” she said.

“The doctor didn’t say if Peng is mentally ill or not, but only said they need to observe his condition further,” she said. Shiyan police refused to comment on the case.

Zhang Hongfeng, a well-known blogger from Hunan province, who is also Peng Baoquan’s friend, said it is illegal and outrageous that the police admitted Peng to a mental hospital without giving any explanation or notifying his family beforehand.

Another Prisoner Dies in Custody- Chinese Rights

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 13, 2010

This is truly sad, the guy was at what is like a county lockup for only 15 days, he’d stolen a bike maybe worth U$20, and now he is dead. Remember, these jails aren’t like those in the USA. In the states, if you are in jail, you probably have a history of bad behavior, but here, it can be as small an offense as pissing someone off.

BEIJING – Public security authorities in Central China’s Hubei province have begun an investigation into the unnatural death of a detainee, who died by “drowning in a laundry basin with shallow water” as local county police and prosecutors claimed.

The case, which netizens dubbed as “bizarre”, came amid concentrated efforts by the Ministry of Public Security to prevent unnatural deaths of suspects during law enforcement – a campaign following a series of deaths of detainees in the past year.

Xue Hongfu, 55, from Huangling village, was found dead by his roommate, surnamed Zhu, around 6:40 am last Wednesday in a basin in the yard of a detention center of Gong’an county, Jingzhou city of Hubei.

Xue was detained on March 27 for stealing a bicycle from a supermarket. He was serving 15 days in the detention center and fined 1,000 yuan ($147).

The basin, in which Xue was said to have drowned, is used for laundry, bathing and sometimes toilet-flushing. It measures 55 centimeters long, 47 cm wide and 46 cm deep, a local police spokesman surnamed Huang said.

An investigation conducted by the county police bureau and procuratorate showed Xue drowned and ruled out the possibility of police malpractice, a circular from the police bureau said.
