Dont Disagree in Chna- Communist Member Fired for Pissing Off Party Boss

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 20, 2010

Do I file this one under hu.man rights, work related issues, or just general stupidity? Some member of the communist party got his hands slapped for disagreeing with antoher member of the party, this is China so there will be no labor dispute, the guy will have to resign, or maybe be sent to some little post in the middle of a snake infested swamp. Actually that is not as bad as other things that could happen to the guy, ie a bullet to the cranium

excerpt:

“A political adviser in Shuangpai county of Central China’s Hunan province was suspended from his post in the local government and reprimanded for displeasing the county’s Party chief at a meeting, information portal people.com.cn reported on Tuesday.

Hu Zuojun, deputy director of the general office of the county’s Party committee and a member of the local committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, spoke on the topic of attracting investments at a political advisers’ meeting on March 11. After listening to Hu’s words, Zheng Baishun, the county’s Party chief, appeared to be unhappy about Hu’s views, according to an official close to him. Zheng later rebuked Hu, claiming his speech was against related political disciplines and revealed his ambition. Zheng also demanded the recall of the printed copies of Hu’s speech.”

China Admits They Suck!

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 20, 2010

China is looking to attract more foreign talent in the area of sciences.  Which is funny as China and India are leaders in producing graduates in these fields.  Iguess the title should of this blog should be “Local Talent says to China , You Suck!”

So China has been looking around for new talent, my guess would be they are pimping countries  like Afghanistan, N. Korea, and other such hotbeds of socio-economic development and academic research.

excerpt chinadaily:

“More foreign talents to be recruited

China has vowed to attract more foreign talent pool in scientific fields, Vice-Premier Zhang Dejiang said at the eighth annual Sino-American Technology and Engineering Conference in Beijing.

China and the United States can engage in closer economic and technological cooperation in the fields of biology and medicine, environmental protection, advanced manufacturing and information technology, Zhang said. More than 270 Chinese and foreign engineers participated in the conference, which was jointly held by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the Ministry of Sciences and Technology as well as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.”

Poor in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 20, 2010

Those guys carrying big bags are the Chinese poor. They flood the subway and train stations. They come to places like Beijing and Shanghai and make about 120U$ per month and send half of it home. In those large bags are all of their clothing and probably a sleeping bag. The Chinese treat them pretty poorly and look down upon them usually.

Kids Need a Whippin’ in China- Says a Parent

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 20, 2010

Here is a quote from a parent in Chongqing, actually kind of shocking as in China they treat their kids like kings, part of the reason the kids are unbearable. But then again the kid being slapped was a daughter, and in China daughters are second class.

“Teacher punishes students for their own good.”

“Teachers tend to punish students physically for their own good. It doesn’t matter if there is no severe injury,” said a father whose daughter was slapped dozen of times in the face at an elementary school in Chongqing. [www.cqnews.net, run by Chongqing Daily]

I am Not an Aristocrat in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 20, 2010

Some guy quoted this in China when the chicoms and others were bitching about his vulgarities and smug attitude.

“I am not an aristocrat.”

“I am not an aristocrat and don’t pretend to be. I dislike so-called professors who can do nothing but criticize others for a living,” said Zhao Benshan, one of China’s top comedians after a professor pointed out the vulgarities in Zhao’s TV series. [Beijing Daily]
