Its funny that in China they have little original programming. I mean of good stuff, of course the party has CCTV which is chock full of mind numbing drivel, but maybe thats just Beijing. Actually the smaller provinces have some decent programming, its not as controlled by Beijing, but in reality the common shows are American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance knockoffs.

Then they also just have good National Geographic shows, and voice it over in Chinese. .. or maybe its just me, maybe my appreciation for their history and unwillingness to accept all they have accomplished in such a short time is biasing my opinion…. nah

Chicoms and the Quake

The chicoms are playing the quake for all its worth. They have canceled regular programming so they can show how they are sending relief to the aid of the victims and yada yada. The funny thing is that we really dont now what has happened as the government has blocked all independent news sources. Maybe they dont want us to see the shitty buildings that the shitty contractors have made, and the suffering, they feel its better to filter out all the negative through the chicom lens. Or maybe I am just jaded…

China to Suck in 3-D Also

China, ever so envious of the success of movies like Avatar, is trying to jump into the 3-D fray. They feel if they throw enough money at it, it will be a success. What they dont understand is that their movies suck. They have no plot, no storyline and are basically trash. There are great movies here, but they are the ones banned by the government or ones that must be taken overseas to get acclaim, see (apple and sen xia hao ren). But the chicoms will take a good concept and make it the most boring thing possible, they will try to give it that childish Saturday morning sappy cartoon feel and their movies will suck just like their governance…. excerpt: “China will start trialing the broadcast of 3D TV shows in some cities this year, said Du Baichuan, a deputy chief engineer of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), the Guangzhou Daily reported Wednesday.
