Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 28, 2010

This means it would be better to shift production to more efficient countries as our valuabel resources are being consumed at an alarming and inefficient rate.

From the New York Times
“China’s cement factories, like this one in Ningxia Province, use 45 percent more power than the world average, and its steel makers use about 20 percent more.”

Living and Working in China- Chinese Caste System

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 28, 2010

China has an unofficial caste system, much like the one that India has, I suppose. China’s caster system, is different however, insofar as it is based upon looks, at least for women. What I mean is the following,
China, like all other countries in business segregates due to factors such as: intelligence, personality, charm, ability etc. But in China, they throw in two wild cards- being wealthy and looks. As for wealth, all bets are off, even Mao’s grandson who is basically thought to be a fool, can become the youngest general ever in the Chinese army.
As for looks, if you possess them, you are golden, if not you are a ‘worker’ or laborer. This, I believe is true, for if you look at the most humble of workers in China, they are not that attractive, contrast this to countries like Colombia or Venezuela, and you find women pushing brooms who are incredible. Also, if you look at positions of authority, in restaurants and such, they are usually held by the best looking of the pack, or the least ugly, as the case may be.
Thus, my thesis is that China has caste system of ugly, butt ugly, mama huhu, etc…

China and Cars- China Fact

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 28, 2010

from factsanddetails.com
Owning a car in China entails a lot of extra bureaucratic headaches. After purchasing a car in Changsa, for example, motorists have to make 15 trips to five different offices to get all the paperwork done, and pay $550 for taxes and fees, $210 for a year’s parking, and somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 a month for gasoline and traffic ticket fines.

This is China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 28, 2010

You see this construction all over China. Funny thing is that they build the buildings and then tear them down, they only last maybe 15- 25 years, compared to up to 70 in the west. They are terribly wasteful here.

“BEIJING – The Chinese government announced Tuesday the lifting of the 20-year-old ban on entry for foreigners with HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and leprosy.”

In China Women are Possessions

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 28, 2010

Based on your present author’s humble opinion via careful observations, I have decided that Chinese men treat the women like possessions. Its really odd, I mean their culture. For instance, if you look at the affluent, it would appear that they believe they are buying the women and maybe, based upon the fact that guangzhou women only care about a house, Chinese women are for sale, But I dont believe that- at least for the most part. Yeah they are desperate and poor, but most of them have some pride. But the guys have this middle school overly-protective attitude like they have to hold back the woman, like a cave man mentality. Or maybe its just me…
