Japan hates China and China hates Japan, that is enough history to understand this excerpt. Historically the Japanese have been great albeit barbaric warriors, but have dominated the area. This makes the Chinese more than a bit nervous. They remember the time that the Japanese invaded China and basically handed their butts to them. One can question the morality of it all, and the horror, but that is true with all wars. To me the real issue is that China is not an aggressive country usually, but they may get froggy with the Japanese. On the other hand, the Japanese are pretty tough, they are good soldiers, it may be in China’s best interest to go light on this one.
Beijing – Japan’s Defense Ministry is considering dispatching border security and coastal monitoring units to islands in Okinawa Prefecture, a move likely to draw protests from Beijing.
excerpt:
“Kyodo news reported that the plan to move Ground Self-Defense Forces (GSDF) to the islands – which may take place over a five to eight year period – is a response to factors like activities in the area by Chinese naval vessels.
As the units would be placed close to China’s Diaoyu Islands, which Japan lays claim to, Beijing is likely to lodge a protest against the program. The unpopulated Diaoyu Islands lie between Okinawa and Taiwan in the East China Sea.”
News Flash Chinese Company Suing Google!
Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 20, 2010
Actually to China it is a news flash, but to me its bullshit. Basically some online shoe company in China is trying to sue google ads for an advertisement of a competitor.
here is an excerpt of the official story I have removed the name of the company bringing suit, screw them, they dont deserve the ink.
“In early May, a xxxx employee searched the name of the company on google.cn, and the second result showed: “If you want to buy sneakers, OKBuy is better than xxxx.”
xxx claims the Beijing company OKBuy maliciously tarnished its reputation by placing such an online ad link.
Letao then made several phone calls to Google.cn and asked it to remove the advertisement, but without success, the company said.”
In theory what they are saying (company xxx) is that the competitor used their search name to actually drive hits to a competitors site. I dont know about the legality of it, but it sound pretty good to me. The problem is that China has no rule of law, and right now the pack mentality is kicking in whereby the ruling communist party probably wants to punish Google. Thus, this cowardly company may win. This is what you can call the China cost of doing business.
