Observations

Posted by w_thames_the_d on October 5, 2010

Been back for a day now and jet lag kicked my butt today, so wont blog too much. I will be blogging about the ghetto American Airlines flight over, and good conversations from that flight.
But, here are some observations:
I’ve been out of the US for 2 years so had been quite used to China, coming back I noticed:
-help in the USA is helpful and knowledgeable (I bought a pc and books etc), in China they have little product knowledge etc
-random acts of courtesy and/or politeness- call it cultural
-kindness here is common whereas Chinese in general are quite a bit more aloof and cold
-great conversationalists here as opposed to a bit of social awkwardness in China

What I miss about in China
-Beijing skyline
-Beijing weather
-Chinese food
-the drama
