When will we learn? Here is another case of a Chinaman who comes to the land of milk and honey, makes a great life then screws us. The US is so foolish for trusting many of those folks. Even the CIA has said that due to this crazy nationalism, they rarely turn on their country (which may be an admirable thing). But why is it our cheapskate companies, all to save a penny, are willing to bring them here only to have them spy on us. The same thing happened with some old guy and nuclear subs, a few other such instances, also Motorola with Huawei..We never learn, so maybe we as a world deserve this.
excerpt: September 1, 2010 Kexue Huang, aka John, 45, has been arrested and charged in a 17-count indictment with economic espionage intended to benefit a foreign government and instrumentalities, and interstate and foreign transportation of stolen property. |

Chinese Eating on Airplanes
Posted by w_thames_the_d on October 25, 2010
Yesterday I flew back and so was stuck on a full plane as usual. In all honesty, for once the Chinese behaved themselves and it really felt as if I were in civilization. (Caveat, there were a few people who disobeyed the rule of not standing before we reach the gate so they could grab their stuff and the man-stewardess came up to them and was upset, but I digress) So, finding nothing to pick at, I was forced to civil thoughts and had none. Then the stewardesses came around with a ‘snack’. This is China and it is almost impossible to get a bad meal, but a bad snack… They bring around this big boxes that look like you could fit 2 size 12 loafers in them, just to get you all excited. I was hungry and was looking forward to some Chinese yumyum, but nay. Inside the big box was nothing but some type of red muffin that tasted like offal, and I roll with no butter. Along side that was one of those little mini-oranges and some crunchy brown thing that looked like a fossilized roach. I dumped the box upside down and peered inside for more, but found nothing. I stuffed all the crap back in the box and fumed. Then I noticed that on this flight of about 130 passengers only yours truly was not eating. The woman next to me was like Kobayashi hoovering up all that was in her path, the rest of the patrons too, seemed to consider this to be the best food that mankind could provide. I am thinking you tight-assed people, you can get some great snacks anywhere in Beijing for less than a1U$ , what are you thinking. Then the ‘help me stewardess’ lights start to flick on as these people ask for seconds. I guess to them they consider it like a buffet and try to stick as much into their gaping maws as possible before landing, after all house prices are climbing and they’d hate to actually spend cash on food… I grabbed my bag and unwrapped my delicious huge Milky candy bar that I had purchased in Chongqing and began to chew with my mouth open and exhale , I covered myself in a delicious chocolate hazy fog. I figured if they were so crazy to eat, I’d really give them something to think about……..entertainment like this you cant get back home…. |

Leaning Tower of China
Posted by w_thames_the_d on October 25, 2010
This SOHO in Beijing, and is it just me or are some of those buildings crooked? No kidding, in China I have seen tons of buildings that seem crooked or off center. I had a shot of one at Suihui east which was great. It’s probably buried amongst the other 2600 photos I have on my phone… yeah I really have that many, but I think that I keep putting up the same ones, like the beautiful Beijing sunset etc. I just need to upload them all…. |

Airport in China
Posted by w_thames_the_d on October 25, 2010
I’m at the airport and just hanging out. I will describe what I see to you,… bring you into my world. Ok, I am in Chongqing and its reputed to have the hottest chicks in China. I’m on some free device from which to access the net. To my left is a young Chinese lady, she’s an assh**LE. I went to guy a coke and she pushes next to me, shoves her cash in the face of the cashier while I was in the middle of paying. In Chinese I told her to wait just as I did. She thinks she’s hot but isnt, but she is thin. Some 50 year old businessmen just sallied up next to her, I guess they are thinking of a quickie before having to face their wives back home-hoping she is a KTV lady is what I mean. She is being cool to them or playing it coy, I am not sure. In front of me is some Chinese guy who has they weird attitude like “hey I own a car, so Respect My Authoritayyyy”. In China no one owns a car (4% do) so if you have one, you are the man…He is the kind of guy who constantly was given snuggies back in the states, in China he was probably popular. In front of him is a woman, she is bored and also surfing the net. The place where I am is called the leiseure restaurant, and if you buy food you get free net access. The place has about 7 or 8 workers and they all have cleansed my table within the past 7 minutes. They practice their English and say ‘hallo’. This airport has some cheeseball shops that sell overpriced goods. I wouldnt trust one of them to sell authentic good, but may buy some chocolate. To my right are three old ladies, but then again remember in China everyone over 30looks old. They are chewing some freaking seeds that all Chinese chew, i have no idea what they are. They are spitting the hulls on the floor. Ok I am bored now and my wrists hurt, so I may end this post… Ok, just did a spell check and all is good, I think. The older guys have given up on the chick, shes throwing her hair arouind, between them, the poor guys probably have a total of 40 hair follicles, but are probably good guys. the probably just got wined and dined, had some ‘massages’, good food and then entered into a long term contract filled with loop holes that the local Chinese will clean their clocks with…. I love china |

Chinese Cooking
Posted by w_thames_the_d on October 25, 2010
Here is a great photo of how they prepare the food in a small Chinese restaurant. I mean great by the fact you can see it as it really is. It may look a little dingy, but I can assure you that this food is incredible. Its kind of like Pizza Hut in the olden days when they made the pizza in front of you. Here they always do so. You may think it looks a little unsanitary and maybe it is, but damn the food here is ace! |

Get Some Ballz in China
Posted by w_thames_the_d on October 25, 2010
Im happy because I am traveling. Today I will leave and go back to the big mean city, but this is a post about the good of China, and the good often times comes from the simple things in life. The city in which I currently am is part of Chongqing and called Yong Chuan, I think. Anyway, like I said, the place is great, it has none of the political bs of the big cities and you wont be swamped by all the noveau riche chinese trying to show you that they are not so backwards, and actually know things. In a city like this, people take you as you are, and you do likewise. Also the prices are great: food for 8 maybe 35U$ including alcohol snacks 0.5U$ noodles and beef U$1 taxi ten minute drive U$ 0.7 true massage 90 minutes U$10 So get some balls, forget Shanhai or Beijing, if you really want to know China, spin a map and point, then go to that place. I bet you will have a lot more fun if you travel that way. The reason is that you will get some ace photos and meet some cool pictures. I mean do you want to have all of the same old stale photos of tian.en.man and the Great Wall? |
