China and Prejudice

Posted by w_thames_the_d on December 13, 2010

My Chinese friend told me that if a China woman marries a white guy, the men will be jealous, but in general they consider it moving up in terms of gene pool. Although they consider themselves to be superior mentally, they know we are stronger physically, or so she said.
When a China woman marries a black, however, according to her, the whole extended family is shamed and shunned by their village.

Pimp or Buinessman in China- Is There a Difference

Posted by w_thames_the_d on December 13, 2010

The other day I met a guy, he claimed he was a businessman, when I pressed him about what his job wa and what he truly was doing for his company, he averred, saying he was an executive.(this is true)
me “ok so what do you do?”
guy- “im an executive”
me- “thats a title not a job description, what do you do?”

guy- ‘work with Japanese clients”
me-“do what”
guy- “well, get them to sign contracts, kinda like sales.”
me- “in china?”
guy-“umm its easier here.”
me-“i thought the Japanese dont buy things made in China”
guy-“umm well they dont.”
me- “so why do you come here?”
guy-“is cheaper”
me- “to manufacture?”
guy- “other stuff…”
me- “like?”
guy-“golf and such…”
what happened is that this guy is a director for a japanese company, he’s a white guy, but fluent in japanese. thus, when the japanese need to unwind, he brings them to places like Zhuhai (digression, in cantonese, depending on the tone this alos is slang for the female sex organ), zuhai for golf and Dongguan for other stuff…ie massages and more. In essence this guy is a high priced corporate pimp. His job, is nothing more than to bring hong kong and Japanese businessmen to china, to wine them dine them and make sure they finish their days with a bang…
One of the biggest secrets in China is the amount of ‘corporate enabled prostitution’- its endemic. By this I mean that much of what happens in business in China, is done over the dinner table, or the KTV/massage parlors/ brothels, this is just a fact.
IT is not in the best interest of American business men to speak openly of this fact, how would you as a wife like to know that in Dongguan China, the sex trade flourishes to an extent equal to that of Rio de Janiero (rio in ’05 had 50,000 sex workers registered, but reputed to have twice that number). Dongguan is an area located in the heart of china’s manufacturing district (by guangzho) and it caters to the after hours needs of businessmen. Upon arriving, you check into your U$40 a night hotel and then walk the streets, bombarded by people offering special massages, or with ads for saunas, and ktv’s . It all means the same thing, cheap sex. Thus, when most purchasing agents from back home return, they are likely to keep this little factoid quiet, after all, how would their wives and kids like to know that daddy, while buying toxic glasses with cute mickey mouse faces on them, was also doing the ‘insey outsey’ with an 18 year old farm girl who has been reduced to renting her body for twenty us dollars or 80 US quarters, by the hour, to lecherous older businessmen.
The Chinese, for their part, do not wish to harp upon the fact that the middle kingdom, after 5000 years, in certain places has been reduced to nothing more than a toxic landfill surrounded by brothels.
Oh but I fear I have digressed, so lets get back on track. This man I met stated he’s a businessman, but I asked if he were a pimp, he replied that in China, the line becomes blurred, so being bored, I set my sites on setting the record straight and providing him with the correct label, businessman V Pimp.

According to http://www.m-w.com, a pimp is ” a man who solicits clients for a prostitute” while a businessman is “a man who transacts business; especially : a business executive” and business is “: a usually commercial or mercantile activity engaged in as a means of livelihood”.
Based upon this , we can see that a pimp is in essence, a businessman, and if he actually makes his living from it, then it is a business.
So what about pimp, well, that is the act of soliciting clients for a prostitute. It would appear that this person falls a bit short on this end. from his beer slurred words, it was made clear to me that his focus was not on helping the prostitutes find tricks or clients, but on helping his company make money, by this definition he is definitely not a pimp.
But, if one looks further they will find that a pimp in the “18th and 19th centuries, the term was commonly used to refer to informers.[3] A pimp can also mean “a despicable person”.[4] The term can also be applied to a person who is considered a ladies’ man.[2] Based upon the second definition, this businessperson does appear to be a pimp.

After reviewing all of the data and facts, I am at a loss. it would appear by his actions that he is engaging in behavior that is despicable, but he lacks the big fuzzy hat a la huggy bear, pictured above, the large pink Cadillac and bell bottom trousers. Maybe he’s not a pimp after all, but rather a soul less person out to make a buck.

modern day China will offer that you need and more, they take English names to make it easier to communicate with them, they learn English and they will gladly pollute their air and land for us. if this is not enough, they are more than willing to offer one the joys of the flesh trade, it it will further their business deals. (actually the same sentiments are expressed in Poorly Made in China- an excellent book)
