An American in China

Christmas Eve in China

“All the stockings weren’t hung by the chimeny with care, no one hopes that Saint Nicolas soon will be here”

Christmas report from China…. ummm well… Ok, China has some Christians, but they are controlled and not allowed to attend mass with the foreigners, so it doesnt matter. Sure they have some bling hanging from the lights etc, but the spirit isnt there. This will be my fourth Christmas in this place and in a way its nice, ie they all wish you a merry Christmas and such, but I dont feel them. I guess it would be like me wishing you a fine Ramadan, I have no idea of the reality of it, so it is a warm but uneventful gesture.
