Chicom to Citizens- You Must Visit your Parents- WTF?
File this under “WTF?” or maybe file it under “hey China, quit building stupid monuments to local leaders and invest in social security for the elderly.’

This post will take some explaining. The chicoms are proposing to make it a law that children visit their parents, if they do not, then their parents can file a law suit against them. WTF
Ok let me explain. In China they have a thing called ‘ xiao’ or filial piety. This means that a child must do all for his parents. Their parents brought them into the world and thus they owe their folks their life. So, the chicoms have leveraged this concept to lighten the burden on the Chinese social security system. The country would rather spend billions and KTV’ing, buying the time of a lithe young bodies, and gulping down the mao tai (Chinese alcohol) than to provide for its elderly. Thus the red party is apparently moving to make it a law that people visit their folks, presumably with hong bao in hand…..

chinadaily excerpt:
“BEIJING – China is considering making it a legal duty for Chinese citizens to visit their aged parents as the country grapples with the challenges posed by a graying population.Wu Ming, an official with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, said on Wednesday that visiting aged family members has been written into the proposed draft amendment to the Law on Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Aged.

Under the amendment, elderly people who are ignored by their children can go to court to claim their legal rights to be physically and mentally looked after, Wu was quoted as saying by Shandong Business Daily.”
