Chinese New Year, How the Chinese Roll

Posted by w_thames_the_d on February 2, 2011

Today, actually yesterday for us and today for you. Tuesday was the last day of the lunar year. What this means is that everyone should spend the night with their family or closest friends. Chinese are very process oriented and have many superstitions. Some of them are that you should eat fish on this day for the Chinese word for fish- yue, is like some other word, I forget what, but its a good thing. So you need to eat fish and leave some extra, dont eat it all and then you will have good fortune next year. Also you should let the kids eat the fish eyes, I dont remember why, maybe so they can pay you more money when they grow up, or maybe to make them smart.
