In China I come From a Red Family

In China red is good and thus if someone tells you they come from a “Red Family”, it actually means a poor but good family. As the ‘people’ are supposedly the backbone of communism, saying your family is ‘Red’ actually means you come from a good but poor family which should be the building blocks of the party. Saying this, however, has no connotation of familial ties with Communism. |
