Public Toilet in China- Public Urination Pic in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on May 30, 2011

This is an interesting part of Chinese culture, or maybe its sloth. In any event, this woman is holding this child so that it can urinate in public. This is quite a common site here but always a bit shocking nontheless.

China’s Epic Drought Impacting Grain Prices

Posted by w_thames_the_d on May 30, 2011

Inflation is a prime concern for China’s communist party. The severe drought, in places the worst ever is hammering Chinese fields and crops. The result is climbing inflation and a gut wrenching fear for the communists. The issue is that when prices spiral out of control then companies cannot produce, or produce less which leads to layoffs which leads to unemployment which in China leads to very bad things. It has been reported that some vegetable prices in China have increased 16% in the past two weeks alone. In addition, the People’s Bank of China will raise interest rates, or so it is expected, in July. Things look a bit sketchy on this side of the pond…

This is what a lake looks like in China now. The last time China did this to herself was during the disastrous great leap forward where 30-50 million people died from starvation and such. Although global warming is an issue, the question is how much China has precipitated this occurrence due to mismanagement of her resources, dam buildup and outright greed.

Martial Law Declared in Inner Mongolia China after Riots

Posted by w_thames_the_d on May 30, 2011

Chinese are becoming upset with a lot of the crap that local cadres, are are pulling on them. A big one is the perceived theft of land and then its sale for a huge profit while compensating the rightful owners a paltry sum. Another is that in China, by law…. oxymoron, yo have the right to petition or complain when your perceived rights have been trampled upon. But of course in China this can lead to bad things The article below is an example. The Chinese are alleging that a man who was exercising his right to complain was murdered by local thugs..
Oh yeah a side story is that the man who died is an ethnic minority and in China although they claim to have peace and harmony, there seems to be little of that in highly ethinc areas…

Terrorist Bank Robber or Aien in China- Odd China Photo

Posted by w_thames_the_d on May 30, 2011

I saw this lady entering a bank the other day. The outfit is not for any religion, but is out of some bizarre Vampire like fear the locals have of Mr Sunshine. This lady, when she unwrapped herself from the smock, the welding hood, flowing garb etc, looked pretty sketchy. She should have saved her time vz protecting herself from the sun, but invested a little in a comb and toothbrush….or maybe its just me…
