Chinese Boutique Shop- China Photo

Chinese entrepreneurs spring up all around the place. Any piece of sidewalk, blade of grass or shelf are, to the locals, a reaoson to show off their wares and make a sale. This is a sign and one pair of dingy shoes. I guess the local ‘owner’ is catering to some niche market…

China’s Mickey Mouse Extorting Cash from Tourists?

Posted by w_thames_the_d on June 8, 2011

In the news in China today, supposedly Mickey and Minnie Mouse are extorting cash from tourists, just call this another China scam (see below). Actually it should come as no surprise as scams of this sort are common in China. You walk down yonganli and a girl wants to ‘practice her English’ with you at a tea house. After about 30 minutes at this place you are stuck with a 400-500 rmb bill. Or near Tianenman you get a rickshaw ride and the guy shows you a sign in English demanding 50U$ for the trip. These are all true in China.

China Daily reporters contacted the company on Wednesday after witnessing two people in Mickey and Minnie Mouse costumes posing with visitors and then demanding 10 yuan.
“This is a very big deal. We’ll send people to Beijing immediately to see what’s going on,” said Huang Chen at Disney’s Shanghai headquarters. Staff based in its capital office said they had no knowledge of the performers.

Chinese Guy Photos Neighbor Sunbathing Nude- Warning Nudity

Posted by w_thames_the_d on June 8, 2011

These photos are for all you perverts out there and I’m sure I’ll get a ton of hits on this page…. anyway

These photos are from weibo or china’s knockoff of twitter and then posted on chinasmack, where I saw them. But you can see more by typing this into your google browser weibo.com/2108269844
. The photos were supposedly taken by some guy who innocently was peeping through the windows of his neighbors….creepy. The guy says the woman sunbathes by the window so he just kind of takes her pics… But anyway, here are the shots…

Photograph of an alleged prostitute who is often seen nude through her open curtains.

A Chinese woman photographed with a man on her bed from another building.

The naked butt of a possible client of the prostitute.

A Chinese netizen uploads photographs of a woman living in the opposite building who regularly exposes herself in broad daylight.

Two Chinese women and a male playing cards on a bed.

Yao Jiaxin and the Death Penalty in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on June 8, 2011

Chinese killer Yao Jiaxin got a trip to the netherword the other day thanks to a brass jacketed slug fired from a Chinese made weapon, or maybe he got the death drip, In any event, this guy named Yao Jiaxin, got the death penalty and died the other day.. The story is that he hit a woman with his car then stopped to check on her. Rather than assisting her as he saw she’d not died, he went to his car took out a knife and stabbed her 8 times killing her. The reason he gave for the act was that he thought she was memorizing his license plates and he’d get into trouble for hitting him…

My two cents
1-that was quick, the guy was caught in October and now he’s a goner

2-Whether you are for or against the death penalty, the real issue is that this person killed one lady but those responsible for the sanlu scandal killed many more. The leader of the company who allegedly was complicit in the coverup got a suspended death sentence, if I’m not mistaken, meaning she could be out one day. To me it would seem that if this guy got ‘got’ then why didn’t she? Then there is the case of Li Qiming whose father is Li Gang, he killed someone but got six years. Going further back we find Su Xiuwen’s case whereby she allegedly ‘accidentally’ killed the wife of a street vendor who had angered her but got only a few years, supposedly due to the governmental contacts of her hubby. I would suspect that much of the ire in China regarding the taking of this art student’s life, has more to do with inequality of justice than anything else.

Chengde China

Photo from topchinablog.com
This photo is from the site of my evil twin. I will be moving to that site in all likelihood. Anyway, I want to Chengde China and visited some ancient land that some ancient Chinese guy made to relax in. The place had nice temples but had some bizarre signs, which I will post later. Anyway, Chengde has good food and its chilly so I loved it.

China’s Ancient Morality Crisis

Posted by w_thames_the_d on June 8, 2011

I was playing around the intertubes and I came across the blurb below. I was wondering how we the lowly barbarians could ever dream of helping the Chinese with all their years of wisdom, to overcome their morality crisis. I thought it was a sign of how China today was worshiping money more than anything else, maybe vestiges of the grab for cash of the Olympics. But then I saw this seven year old item and low and behold, it would appear that in China, it’s just more of the same old same old…

from here

http://www.rediff.com/money/2004/apr/19guest1.htm

Yang Xinhai, China’s worst serial killer to date, murdered 65 people and raped 23 women. In the southern city of Shenzhen, a couple killed 17 young job seekers, while a student in Henan murdered 17 students — “for fun”…In Beijing, a taxi driver and his wife killed seven people, including four prostitutes whose bodies they chopped into pieces and partially ate. In Nanjing, a snack-shop owner grew worried about competition. He put rat poison in a rival’s products, killing 38 people. A further 300 fell ill.
These incidents may point to a moral crisis in Chinese or they may not….
