China Builds World Longest Accident Waiting to Happen- Longest Bridge in China

China seems in a hurry to shed the image of pigtailed lackeys toting other pigtailed guys in those cool rickshaws so popular a while ago. In a race to show that no they are not that backwards and just because they eat dogs, cats and rats, this does not mean they are not real people. What they have also done is attempt to show that they are a capable nation who can build stuff that lasts longer than the fleeting thoughts prancing around my ADD brain. In order to address the last issue, the communists are building a lot of stuff, most of which will outlast those thoughts in my brain, but not by much. An example is shown in the photo below. Its a bridge, a really long bridge in China. The bridge is like ten miles long and over water.
When I think of scary things, my thoughts kick around ideas of being stuck in an elevator, paper cuts on my eyeball and the like. But to your humble instigator/author the notion of traveling over a Chinese structure suspended over water for ten miles is beyond the definition of a white knuckle experience. For sure the thing will work well for a few days and maybe a year, after all most new buildings do as well. What I’d be concerned about is the fact that most new buildings in this place dont last much longer than 15 years and usually a bridge such as this is earmarked for a life much longer than that. If I were adventurous, I’d go and check out that omen of things to come, but feel it more prudent to wait by the wayside and say I told you so….
