In China Use Skype Go to Jail- Reblog from Michaelrobertson.com

Use Skype - Go Directly To A Chinese Prison
Excellent post from here

A research firm recently revealed that eBay and TOM are colluding with the Chinese government to spy on users of Skype. Together they monitored user’s text chats and stored those containing politically sensitive topics like freedom, democracy, Tibet, opposition to the communist party and Falun Gong. They also track voice call participants. Presumably they turned this data over to the government and it’s impossible to track how that data has been used.
“What people have been implicated by their Skype usage and subsequently interrogated, imprisoned or..”

In China, List of Most Affluent Called List of Ecnonomic Fugitives

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 15, 2011

In China they define morals differently than in civilization. So differently in fact, that I have yet to be able to put a handle on any morals in the place. The following snippet is an example of this. In the following they describe how Chinese rich do not like to publicize their affluence for much of their gains are ill begotten. Thus, I guess after stealing from the poor around you, one does not want to remind all those people that you have hurt that yes, you have made it while they still live in mud huts. China is oftentimes a bizarre place.

excerpt from here
“…However, as some of China’s affluent are reluctant to publicize their wealth, it was difficult for him and his colleagues to create the list, Hoogewerf said. He also indicated that the list was based on objective data, instead of the opinions of entrepreneurs.
Since the list was first released in 1999, some entrepreneurs on it have been involved in financial irregularities. The list was, therefore, described as a list of most-wanted economic fugitives…”

In China It’s Not Rape if He Wears a Condom

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 15, 2011

An English teacher in Guizhou province in China told the cops she had been raped by the chief of the local bureau of land and resources management. The teacher alleged that she had been taken out to drink by the alleged perpetrator and some others and had been coerced into consuming too much alcohol.
The police then investigated the incident and found that sexual intercourse had occurred but then told her that because the alleged perp had used a condom, that a rape could not have occurred.
The teacher then approached other men from the party to get them to corroborate her story only to have them tell her to shut up. Eventually the perp was arrested, but what is up with this place?

Post to Piss Off Almost Everyone- China is Killing Hotties

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 15, 2011

At the risk of objectifying women and showing that not only am I a typical intolerant American sob, I just have to post this. I was surfing the net for I have ADD and am bored. I came across a site which lead to another and viola! I found this from here. This site shows some hotties who are allegedly being given the death penalty in China. I guess we don’t know so maybe these ladies are real bad apples, but come on Chinese people use your heads. If you look around the word hottie can rarely be used in your land, thus by ‘offing’ these women, your just going to have more angry horn dogs for citizens

China’s NBS and Americans in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 15, 2011

China has a bureau called the ‘national bureau of statistics’ better known as the ‘bureau that kow tows to the communist part or risks getting their collective skulls smashed with thousand year old clubs. But, this entity is charged with telling the peons here what the government wants to hear or to report the relevant stats of the country.
The bureau is a waste of money as they misreport as often as they are correct. But, they have stated that China has about 69,000 Americans, but I thought I had seen a higher figure before. They also say that mainland China excluding Hong Kong has 600,000 foreigners, again I though I had seen a higher figure before. Whatever the case, we collectively are trying to help these people, but it is oh so hard.

San Francisco Bridge Future Disaster -Jobs Outsourced to China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 15, 2011

Excellent article here on America’s stagnating economy and our ignorance in keeping it that way. The case in point is a bridge that we ousourced to be built in China by a company with no previous bridge building experience. Maybe its just me, after all I live here so maybe I am biased. But can we really trust our lives to Chinese manufacturing? i mean can’t we just trust them to make toxic toothpaste, dog food and milk?
from here
America will never recover if we outsource everything, including our public infrastructure. Bloomberg made the excellent video above about California outsourcing the construction of a portion of the San Francisco Bay Bridge to Shanghai Zhenhua, a Chinese firm. Shanghai Zhenhua is assembling the section and will then ship it to California for installation. The state is supposedly saving $400 million with this move. The workers at the Chinese facility are making $12 dollars a day.
In times of fiscal stress it’s easy to understand why public entities are trying hard to cut costs. But this “cost cutting” is really just off-shoring American jobs. Something has to give — we can’t recover without creating American jobs. It’s our choice, and I choose spending more and creating jobs at home.
