Polluted Chinese Beach Still Attracts Swimmers

China is on the verge of ecological collapse. This should come as no surprise to anyone with an internet connection or TV. The following is a photo of how that collapse is manifesting itself in parts of China. In this photo we see the beach infested with algae blooms. The bottom line is that these things are caused by oxygen deprivation, I believe from the horrible toxins China puts in their water.

Anyone want to go for a swim in China?

Beachgoers covered in algae in E China
The beach at Zhanqiao Pier in Qingdao city, East China’s Shandong province, is covered in overgrown green algae, July 14, 2011. The algae also covered a large area of sea surface near the beach, and forced the beach to close at 3 pm. Qingdao city is a significant seaport of eastern China and one of China’s most popular tourist destinations. [Photo/CFP]</font></span></div><br /><div style=” />
