The Chinese and Christianity

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 19, 2011

From here
The Communist leaders of China have also usurped the right of the Pope to designate bishops and cardinals. Cardinal Joseph Zen, Archbishop of Hong Kong, the titular head of the legitimate Catholic Church in China, noted in Human Events recently: “All examples in history show that when the bishops are under control of the government, the Church goes wrong.”
The cardinal then cited examples of clergy who have been bought by the Chinese communists and those who have remained independent:
There are three kinds [of clergy] who participated: those brought by force, those brought by heavy pressure and those who went willingly. It’s very bad that people have to be forced, but it is even worse for us — much more sad for us — that some went willingly. Some bishops who go get paid a good sum of money. We know one bishop who received 200,000 renminbi and for another it was 300,000. We know many things in Hong Kong about what is going on. It is no longer possible to keep things secret.
Cardinal Zen also spoke of the torture of priests in communist China:
When they arrest a priest they don’t put him in prison. They put him in a guest house of the police. Unfortunately, they are going back to the ways of torture. One priest was kept for five days without sleep and they keep him standing as officials interrogated him in three shifts. Then, after five days, he simply collapse[d] and then they beat him.

China’s High Speed Rail, In Debt and Poorly Made

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 19, 2011

China had a dream. The dream was that one day they could make things that did not suck and that day would come before July 1, 2011 or the 90th birthday of the communist party. A little bit after penning the words to this dream, the dye black comb-overs who run this stye, said “fk it, that ain’t going to happen” and the rampant theft of foreign tech took place -allegedly.
The Chinese, whose ‘ innovate genes’ have been playing hide and seek for the past 1000 years are suffering to be seen as leaders in innovation so they have satisfied themselves with pirating- allegedly. One of the newest symbols of Chinese pride was to be the high speed rail from Beijing to Shanghai, among others. Unfortunately the thing had problems with corruption, and quality and once again was nothing more than an overpriced Chinese turd on the sidewalk of civilization.
Today, as if to add insult to injury, it was announced that this high speed ‘fiasco in waiting’ is also costing the reds a little more coin than they had been hoping for and at the last count, it was said that China’s high speed rail and all other railways are in debt to the tune of U$294.87 billion! To put this into perspective, this means that the shitty Chinese rails that are now seen as high dollar paper weights are in debt to an amount of civilized cash equal to ALL the money that that a country like Venezuela has! If China’s rail debt were a country, it would be the 33rd largest in the world!
Wow and I thought the Chinese made wise investments…

China Declares Martial Law for the Third Time This Year- Bumpy Road for China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 19, 2011

Chinese riot forces arrived in Xinjiang to enforce martial law after Uyghurs attacked a police station on July 18. (Internet Photo)China declared martial law due to a recent attack in Xinjiang China. It’s the at least the third time this year that they have had to do this….looks like some people are not so happy after all.

China just wants everyone to get along, so its frustrating when some people just don’t seem to get it. This time, the disobedient children were from the Xinjiang Muslim region of China. Uncle C got upset with the inhabitants of that place because he thinks they cannot be trusted. Its not because they look like this

and pray like this

nor due to the fact that they are avid Muslims, after all, the Han love all races equally.
In any event, uncle C has declared martial law for the region. For those of you who do not know what martial law with ‘Chinese characteristics’ is, its a specie of martial law whereby the police and anyone looking like Confucius or this

can accuse or beat on a person who does not look like Confucius and tell the police that this non-confucian looking person was doing something wrong whereby this non-Confucian person will be ‘re-eduated’ wtih a ball bat, a ball peen hammer, and electric baton, kind of like the cultural revolution of China.

Yeah they declared martial law in the area due to an attack on the cop shop.

Zorro Comes to China? -WTF China Pic

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 19, 2011

China is a fun place to live, if you’re not Chinese, have good lungs and internal organs strong enough to withstand the onslaught of adultered food. Apart from that it is at time, like a zoo. A marvelous zoo filled with exotic and sometimes primitive animals that spend the day gawking back at their foreign captors, often in disgust often in dismay and at times even with curiosity.
One of the interesting things of the local Chinese person is their desire to cloak their bodies in things that are better off in a trash heap or other such place. To the local Chinese person, it would appear that peace and harmony is not within in their sartorial purview. More often than not, you see them donning clothing thats too old or too shiny, small or fluffy, puffy or just plain foolish. To take a walk around the Beijing streets is like living in a world draw by Dr Seus…
The daring Chinese woman pictured here has decided to go with the typical Chinese ‘shirtless sleeves’ (term by another blogger perhaps from this ridiculousworld.com’) and then the lady topped off this mess with the large sombrero last seen gracing the skull of Zorro or a Mexican troubadour.
I guess the locals inspired by the liberty to dress in more than three colors, like they were forbidden to do only 35 years ago, have decided to be a little daring with their ensembles…..
oh yeah check out the bike, you can get these for about 20U$. They last for about five pedals and then are dust…

WTF Is Up with Chinese Men and Their “Purses” – China Photo

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 19, 2011

Darwin was right, or maybe it was that bit from the one movie with all the dinosaurs… forget the name, but anyway in the flick one guy said that nature had a way of overcoming problems. Thus, although only one sex of dinosaurs had been bred, in the animal kingdom, several species are able to spontaneously transform their genders. Maybe this is what we are seeing with China and her over-abundance of ‘men’. …
