Update on Violence in China’s Muslim Area of Xinjiang

Posted by w_thames_the_d on July 31, 2011

There is much news about Kashgar in Xinjiang. What we know was that the weekend saw a knife attack or two and a bombing this afternoon. The supposed number of casualties run from 14 to 100 (R. kadeer) but who really knows.
The guardian shows the PLA marching into the area, flag held aloft, but some sources seem to hint that things are going pretty badly for the Han. Wantchinatimes ran a headline saying the violence continues and at midnight local I combed the chinadaily and saw no news meaning that either it is really bad there still or they are crafting their response.

What a coincidence, I’ve just recently finished watching a let’s play demonstration of the myth 3 level where Conarch led a group of humans to inspire a full fledged Ogre revolution against their Iron weilding masters (giants in iron armor, welding big Thor hammers). Although the Ogres were seriously defeated, they really bleeped things up for the Trow. Even if China were to defeat the Uyghirs, it would be an extremely bloody battle, it would be such a disastrous victory, that would cost much in capital material for China.
