Chinese Stealing Things? Post from Chinesepeoplehavenostyle.com

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 31, 2011

Chinesepeoplehavenostyle.com is a funny site about Chinese people and their clothing. The author is a man who is studying at a premier institution, all of which means nothing to me as my style sense sucks as badly as the Chinese. What I do appreciate, however is his writing style, sense of humor and ability to express himself. His posts are light-hearted and well thought out and he’s got some great photos. I think I have him on my blogroll and if I don;t I will do so as soon as I get done stuffing my face with junk food

from here:

Why do you want to just steal and copy everything, Chinese people? Don’t you want to have something of your own that you earned and thus has more value to you? I mean, it might be kind of hard for that guy to procure a vehicle by buying it, but it is possible… And it should be relatively easier for this girl to not just “steal a trend” (What does that even mean? Does she just want to follow a trend?) and have her own original thoughts about how to dress herself… Is that crazy or too much to ask?

China Fact- Very Few Chinese Pay Taxes

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 31, 2011

Only 8% of Chinese people pay taxes. The results of this are an underfunded social security system leading to a lifetime of misery for the elderly and disabled plus an unrealistic expectation on how much the typical chinese should take home per month. Thus, when these folks go to civilization they no doubt feel the pinch of what it means to pay taxes and help thy brother…..

Iran to Prohibit Koran’s Made in China Due to Typos

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 31, 2011

File this under ‘whose next on the big building hit list’. Iran is pissed with China over printing mistakes in their printing of the Koran. My question is if they had the chinese translate them or what? If not then how did the Chinese foul up something as easy as printing a book?

Photo of Chinese Retirement Plan

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 31, 2011

China’s got about four times as many people as the land of the free- USA. This means they have tons more old folks as well. The problem with that is that they have no social security net to speak of so instaed of going broke, they allow the elderly to rely on kids if they have them and to suffer if they don’t .This guy probably has no kids and will work till he passes.

China Invading the Americas -Buying a Part of Iceland

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 31, 2011

Some Chinese guy who is an ex-chicom (ex-chicom in name only?) is seeking to buy .3 % of Iceland to build a resort. The concern of many is that
his purchase would give China a foothold in the Americas.

The Chinese would ask why this is true, after all the guy is not a chinese communist governmental member now, but many would say that this man just like the leader of Huawei may represent the vested interests of the communist party.

China News

Toxic China
It is reported that over 1 000 000 tons of untreated toxic waste are piling up around China. Can anyone say disaster?

The chinadaily said that their police are to be investigated and held responsible for ‘beating citizens and individuals’- wtf? You mean they are
finally holding these people responsible for this.

From the NYT
China is closing schools meant to teach the children of migrant workers in an attempt to either control population or maintain order and face
“…But school administrators, parents and many Beijingers view the bulldozing as nothing more than a roughshod exercise in population control. According to the Beijing Bureau of Statistics, more than one-third of the capital’s 19.6 million residents are migrants from China’s rural hinterland, a figure that has grown by about 6 million just since 2000.”

China’s BYD Out of Cash and Firing Folks

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 31, 2011

China has a car company called BYD. The company got some funding from ‘oh shit’ Warren Buffet and sought to exploit their shitty tech to the US. The problem was that their tech was not as good as advertised and sells cars whose body shapes are so similar to BMW’s that they could probably not pass IPR muster in civilized countries.
The company has just announced that it is cutting its sales staff by 70%-here, but also says they are going upscale -here. So just what is the deal with BYD? My chinese contacts say that their batteries are decent but not earth shattering but their cars suck and Chinese, when given the choice will not purchase them but go for a foreign brand.
At the end of the day one has to wonder when WB is going to bail from BYD and leave the world to laugh at their tech…

I am unsure as to what this discussion is about but it probably involves money and or goods. Another thing is to observe the beautiful sky which has artfully been cloaked in the glorious exhalations of tall coal burning furnaces….

Feeling the “Big Brew”- Chinese Sissy/Soldiers and Wimps

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 30, 2011

Here is a comment from Brewski aka the Big Brew. He pretty much sums up what I have come to learn while living here.
Brewskie comment-“I heard several times from a chap who’s claimed Chinese soldiers are a bunch of “sissy mama’s boys” who’d get their fannies kicked by US soldiers in the instance of a war. I assumed him to be a white trash bigot and blew off his comments; now, with stories like this, I’m beginning to wonder if he’s right…

Regardless, it’d be stupid for the US to chase boogeyman in another useless, needless and costly war; sometimes, I think the only blockheads dumber than CCP cadres are D.C. retards.”

Hmm Brew, I think you have captured my thoughts and beliefs nicely. Did you see my post that an American friend stopped to help a chinaman who lie bleeding and unconscious in the streets as all the Chinese strolled past? And did you see how they behaved during the Sichuan earthquake and times of struggle? Their actions lead this man to believe we have little to worry about. In addition I read a book called The Long March by Sun Shuyun who basically claims that this ‘epic’ event was fraught with foolishness theft and cowardice, but dont tell the cadres.
