90 Year Old Chinaman, Young Chinese Woman- “Let Me See Your Junk!”

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

This woman wanted to take some pics with the kindly old gentleman also pictured. The man thought it was a good idea to have his pictures taken but under one condition. Apparently, true to Chinese spirit, he believed you don’t get something for nothing. Thus while she was taking his pics he grabbed at her junk, and later her hair and or chest.
The article comes from mop.com and does not say how the woman reacted to the mans advances, but it seemed as if she took it all in stride. I never realized that 90 year olds could still be pervs…

China Leading the Way- Even Bottled Water is Toxic

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

China has contaminated her land to such an extent that not much is safe. Well some things are safe, for instance uncle c et al have their own private farms from which they obtain their veggies. After all, they surely dont want to consume the pesticides and cancerous cabbage that the rest of us do.
But now we find out that even bottled water in China is unhealthy.

What It Looks Like To Swim With 1.3 Billion People

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

What a fun day at the beach. No wonder they all want to be ABC, anywhere but China. I once blogged a story where a man died from swallowing Chinese pool water. It was so contaminated with feces and urine that the guy’s system was supposedly overwhelmed and he croaked.
As for me, I shy away from baby pools as I figure they are soaked with little kiddie pee, but knowing the Chinese and their sanitary habits, can you imagine how infested this body of water is? (photo asianews)

China Seeking Cultural Heritage Status for World Most ‘Revolting Food’

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

China has this dish called century old eggs. The things are green and look like they came from a Dr Seuss book. Looks aside, the things are pretty tasty. This did not stop a CNN poll from ranking them as the worlds most revolting food, which raised the collective hackles off the locals to no end. (Actually it was not CNN but a poll as many here do not appreciate. The usual chicom hate phermone kicks in when something negative is said about this place and thus the reaction. )
All of this aside, a Chinese company is applying for this dish to receive a special ‘cultural heritage award’. I am sure they’ll get it, what else do they have to do with such things.

Hong Kong Was “Made and Marred by Britain”- Beijing Diplomat Says

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

Great article here on the problems in Hong Kong at present. One Beijing diplomat named Wang quoted that the problems facing HK are due to colonial rule of the island. Aside from bringing the funny, Mr. Wang said that the HK civil servants “don’t know how to be their own bosses and masters.”.
After enjoying a good cackle at the man’s words, I then re-read the article.
In essence the problem is that HK’ers were used to being treated as humans and/or adults, for the most part. But that all changed in the 90s. According to the world, HK is as far from the mainland as can be which is due in part to the lack of contact between the twain, at least for the past hundred years or so.
So the HK’ers are upset with a government that is staffed with mostly mainlanders, according to the article, and this is a cause for concern. According to the agreement for the handover, the mainland control of the island was supposed to be ‘hands off’ or perhaps a light nudge here and there.
The problem, however, is that in true Chinese style, they will ‘liberate’ Hong kong just as they did those two provinces in the west and with an influx of mainlanders seek to control/dominate the place. This is the modus operandi of the mainland-flood a territory with redbook waving lackeys whose love to the motherland is unfaltering all the while ignoring/destroying the good of the places they inhabit. This has lead to dissonance from the HK’ers and protesting. The mainlanders are none to nervous as they would hate to piss off the wealthy little special administrative region called Hong Kong. Funny Post on Ruxury and Knock-offs from “Chinesepeoplehavenostyle.com”

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

I came across the site chinesepeoplehavenostyle one night when I was bored. The author is studying design or perhaps has graduated, but she critiques the sartorial splendor that is China. Her style is ebullient and provocative yet playful and has an excellent flow.
Each page is an example of what style is in China in her eyes. The following is a quote from the author and the picture as well. (I hope it comes through).
If the shot does not show up then simply click on the link and be ready for the he-he. Kudos to the site.

Excerpt from here

“I would be embarrassed to be caught wearing or carrying around the same exact thing as someone else, but I bet in their heads they are all thinking that they are part of some cool, exclusive, luxurious club. That is obviously not the case, since every Mary and Sue in every 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-tier city in China have these trite, boring, ‘ruxury’ bags… The concentration of conspicuous handbags is so dense that I can often snap shots with multiples of the same thing, and it’s nauseating but illustrative:…”

Credibility with Chinese Characteristics- Housing Prices

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

China seems to have a ‘China way’ to do just about everything. They have china’ized the western part of their country, their government and their products. One of the other things they have come to put their thumb print all over, is their national statistics.
One of the entities in charge of stats is the NBS or national bureau of statistics. Although the BS part seems pretty evident- most doubt the integrity of their data. For instance, according to them, house prices in China have only increased 20% over the past five years while your current author can attest that the figure is much closer to the 150% figure posted by the China Real Estate Index system.
It’s not that the NBS is fibbing, but when wages have increased at 107% over that same time, if they tell the truth, they are bound to piss off a lot of people. Thus, they do what entities in this country do best- they massage the numbers.
The funny thing is that the locals have grown accustomed to these fabrications and take them with a grain of salt, they really do not believe in them. As for many of the ignorant foreigners who rush to this place seeking gold, they’d be advised to do the same.
The problem is that they will consider such information as an out-lier and or China bashing and rush headlong into their fiscal demise. As for me I say good riddance, its all a part of Darwinism and the thinning of the herd…. article here

Gila Monster or Chinese Sunbather

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 15, 2011

The Chinese do not seem to like the out of doors. They scurry from the rain and will do just about anything to avoid Mr. Sunshine. According to them it turns their skin a brash yellow…
This woman seems to have taken her fear of the sun to an extreme as she’s donned a full body suit so as to protect herself from its harmful rays.
The photo was posted on Chinasmack.com and many of the locals made fun of her due to her size which to me is equivalent to calling someone dum dum. The true humor, imho, lies in the fact that the Chinese still cling to these 18th century notions of sunshine. It’s as if they feel that a little color will make them look like a ‘coolie’.
In reality, their expectorating and sidewalks filled with scat do much more to further this image than anything else. But then again, what do I know, my country is a mere 230 years old.
