Interesting article and cartoon from the Daily Capitalist .com
In the article, the author seemingly takes a pro-big business or pro-free trade approach to economics. But this cartoon says a lot about US business now….

Chinese Billio-coms and the Rest of US

Posted by w_thames_the_d on September 25, 2011

According to the Hurun report China now has around 179 billionaires in terms of US dollars. The sad part is that in 1999 they had 0.
Think about this fact. In the span of ten years and due in part to the Olympics and foreign companies handing over technolocy and funds, the Chinese now have the second most billionaires in the world! Even worse is that 90% of all Chinese millionaires and billionaires are communist party members or their children. What this means is that in order to become rich, I mean filthy rich in China you need to become a communist party member.
American big business realizes this fact, for they now openly kow tow to the communists in China. While they once condemned the land for ‘taking our jobs’, many of these ‘Red blooded Americans’ now embrace the land called China.

US Greed and First Class Flights

Posted by w_thames_the_d on September 25, 2011

From here
“Gary Locke went to China and flew coach, a thing that is considered typical for American politicians or so he said. Upon arriving in China and being interviewed, the Chinese asked if he did not fly first class because the US owed China so much money.
The comment by the Chinese show the increasing arrogance they have towards us and perhaps we deserve it. Afterall, we allow them to buy our debt and in turn we take this borrowed money and pay it back to them. They must be laughing all the way to the bank.”

Rats Deserting the Ship in China- Chinese Businessmen/Theives

Posted by w_thames_the_d on September 25, 2011

Victor Shih does a good job of explaining how China is propped up by ‘sweet heart’ loans that probably not be paid off, but this is China they expect that sort of thing. In a land with semi-lawlessness and under the table financing it is unsurprising that debts are nothing more than a placeholder to a companies insolvency and then escape by Chinese director to the land of milk and honey with the cash.

In what can only be described poetic justice, the Zhejiang Center Group which was voted “famous trademark of China,” has shown the reality of China today. After obtaining U$300 million in under the table loans the guy took off and left the company broke. According to the locals the man is in the US. He probably is, or in Canada where his one-child embarrassment is making an ass of himself with his unintelligible English and shitty attitude. But what the heck, lets allow the man and his family to come to the land of civilization- we are so kind aren’t we.

From here:
“Despite the corrective power of the company’s spectacles, nobody saw it coming. On September 21, debt collectors gathered outside of Zhejiang Center Group, one of China’s biggest eyeglasses makers, demanding payments from the group’s owner, Hu Fulin. It was also not on account of defective eyesight that Hu was nowhere to be seen.

When the news came to light on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, netizens were shocked. After all, Zhejiang Center Group was the first brand in Wenzhou to be named as a “famous trademark of China,” acknowledging its status as a household name. The company was also the second-biggest taxpayer among local makers of glasses.

Internet users speculated that Hu had already absconded to the US three days earlier before news of his company’s massive debts came to light, and had taken with him 2 billion yuan (US$313 million) obtained from under-the-table loans.”
