“Cleaning staff at a Beijing hotel were discovered to have been using guest towels to clean toilets and drinking glasses. The general manager of the hotel has made a public apology, reports state-run news agency Xinhua.
According to the Beijing News, cleaning employees at the Fortuneland Hotel in Beijing’s Chaoyang district used towels intended for guests to clean bathroom toilets, windows and floors, and later used the same towels to clean the room’s drinking glasses. They hung the towels back to the bathroom for the next guest’s use after washing them.
An employee said this is a hidden rule among the staff because they don’t have enough towels to clean with and that it is impossible to wash enough linen to keep up with their demand.”
