An American in China

Made-in-China Dog Treats Killing American Pets- Beware!

These brands of jerky treats are killing dogs, do not buy them!

  • Waggin’ Train Jerky Treats or Tenders (Nestle Purina)
  • Canyon Creek Ranch Jerky Treats or Tenders (Nestle Purina)
  • Milo’s Kitchen Home-Style Dog Treats (Del Monte Corp)

I love animals, well most animals. The four legged variety are my fav, while the two legged Chinese variety not so much. What really annoys me about China, aside from the sloth, immorality, deceit, corruption, overcrowding, public spitting/urination/defecation, ignorance, insecurity, lack of confidence, lack of ability to communicate, lack of logic, oh- sorry I went off the rails.

The point is that the Chinese are making and selling jerky treats which are killing our dogs. This should not come as a surprise, after all, they have made an Olympic sport out of infanticide, so why would they care about Fido?

The following excerpt explains the problem. My suggestion is to either give your dog table scraps or chicken as a treat, but stay away from this stuff. In addition, if your local pet store has made-in-China animal goodies, then ask for the manager, get a running start, run as fast as you can and then do a spinning hammer fist right into the center of his zipper. Once this is accomplished, rub his head in the dirt, point to the rotten Chinese ‘food/poison’ and tell him you will return.

“Federal animal health officials announced Tuesday that Chinese jerky treats have caused a mysterious illness outbreak in more than 3,600 dogs (and ten cats) and the death of about 600 pets.
About 500 dogs and nine cats died from the Chinese treats as of January.
But in spite of running more than 1,000 tests and visiting multiple manufacturers, the FDA still isn’t sure what it is in the chicken, duck, and sweet potato jerky that is making the animals sick. “To date, testing for contaminants in jerky treats has not revealed a cause for the illnesses,” said deputy director for the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine Martine Hartogensis.
Nestle Purina PetCare Co. and Milo’s Kitchen withdrew some of its popular dog treats in January after New York state agricultural official found potential antibiotics contamination. Maybe stick to making your own dog treats for now.”

China needs to be banned. Does anything good come from there?
