Understanding China, One Blog at a Time

An American in China

Forced Sterilization, Abortions and China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on December 26, 2013

In the book, The End of The Chinese Dream, it says that from 1983 Chinese women were forced to use contraceptives, sterilization was mandatory after a second birth and regions had targets for sterilizations. In 1983, for example, there were 21million sterilizations, 16.4 million women and 4 million men.

The cruel Chinese also sported banners which read, ‘Better to let blood flow like a river than to have in more (baby) allowed’

And this peaceful little ditty

‘You can beat it out!
You can make it fall out!
You can abort it!
But you cannot give birth!’

Pg 107

All hail the rise of China…
