Understanding China, One Blog at a Time

An American in China

China’s Gini Coefficient is Scary

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 10, 2014

China’s affluent, aka communist party members, enjoy a nice life. After all, most of them are now seeking citizenship in civilized countries and have already sent their wife, one-child disappointment and KTV squeeze there.

The rest of China lives like this.

In fact, China’s income disparity measured by the gini coefficient, is at danger levels. In fact, it is one of the highest in the world. A characteristic it shares with semi-stable African countries.

In order to keep people’s minds off this fact, Beijing is ‘seeking quarrels’ with its neighbors. By doing this it shifts focus from its illegitimate control and stimulus lead spending spree which created a huge debt bomb which will soon explode.

It is no wonder China is picking external fights, its internal realities are frightening.
