Chinese Subways Smell Like Ass

China has great subways, maybe that is the problem because lately they are jam packed with people. This is good, good for China and good for commerce as people can get around. The problem is that China has been experiencing a lot of heat lately, and heat means sweating, and sweating means funk, and a lot of people sweating means a lot of funk. So couple the fact that China has so many people with the fact that they have tons of migrant workers who are not provided the same sanitary conditions as we enjoy, many of them can only use showers on a weakly basis, and you get a rank subway environment. Lately the subways have been jam packed with tons ofsweaty people and the subways are also not running much a/c, so by the time you get off the subway, you are drenched with sweat, and your nostrils are filled with the scent of human funk….

This is a comment on China, the state of their poor hygiene and the spoiled one child kids. “Beneath the debate going on here over the Chinese peoples’ poor social manners, lies a deeper social problem; ie. the raising of little emperors who can’t tell right from wrong! The one-child policy means parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties all treat their kids like little emperors; shower them with nothing but the best, give in to all their demands no matter how ridiculous they may be, afraid to punish them for their wrongs, or perhaps love them too much to want to punish them. When these little emperors grow up, they behave like big emperors and expect everyone to fall at their feet; they think they can’t be wrong; they think the world owes them a living! When they were little, their parents would allow them to urinate and defecate whereever they like; when they grow up they do the same. That’s why you often see adults behaving badly in public; it is their upbringing; or perhaps they were born with a missing gene, that of good behavior? The way the Chinese parents raise their kids leaves much to be desired. Give you a shocking example. A mother and her daughter of perhaps five sat in front of me in the bus; mother gave daughter a packet drink; daughter finished it and handed the empty pack to mother; instead of taking it from her, she pulled open the bus window and told daughter to throw it out; daughter obediently did so. Disgusting! This is how they raise their kids; no wonder when the kids grow up they spit and litter all over the place, ‘cos mother told them it’s Ok to do so!

China’s Geely looks to purchase Volvo on Monday from Ford. What will this do to Volvo’s vision of not having one person die in a crash in a Volvo vehicle be realized in the next five years. Unless China makes some serious changes in the way they do business, I fear that dream will never never never be realized.

Chinese, You can Take Them Out of the Motherland, But Cannot Take the Motherland Out of Them

Post about Chinese manners from the China Daily “Spitting, talking loudly and littering are singled out by the media and tour guides as the three most frequent misdemeanours by Chinese tourists abroad. Those reprehensible acts, though committed by a small bunch of people, have seriously tainted the image of Chinese and the nation as a whole. As a country long reputed for its courtesy and etiquette, some of our compatriot’s disgraceful deeds abroad will undoubtedly do our nation a disservice. Compared with just a few years ago, more and more people can now afford outbound tours. A total of 28.85 million Chinese took trips abroad last year, a whopping 43 per cent jump from 2003, although this accounts for only 2 per cent of the country’s total population. With the country becoming more affluent, overseas travel will not remain, as at present, a privileged luxury for a small number of people. And with the expected number of Chinese travelling abroad increasing dramatically, this issue of manners should be dealt with properly and promptly. As public awareness about manners improves and attention paid to their conduct grows, Chinese visitors’ behaviour will improve markedly. But as the latest episode in Hong Kong Disneyland shows, some less conscious people still need to mind their manners and curb their diehard bad habits. At the same time, it is a reminder that public campaigns to educate people about good manners is still required. As our pockets swell, one hopes our behaviour as tourists will also improve.”

When Disney Opened in China, What did the Chinese Do?

This is funny, it is from 2005 when Disney opened in Hong Kong, the biggest complaint was the horrible hygiene of the mainlanders, here is a shot of a Chinese kid pissing with the aid of his mom. A child urinats near one of the park’s restaurants. [sohu] Media reports said mainland visitors disregarded the theme park’s rules and behaved improperly in the park, triggering a nationwide debate on manners and etiquette, a discussion that is still raging in the media.

The pollution has been horrible here lately. This photo shows what it looks like. There is always a bluish grey haze lately, it is somewhat depressing. You can see it hanging down like a fog, but that is actually pollution.

Living and Working in China- Working for Chinese

Today I went to my job, its a part-timer, and the company is Chinese. The Chinese are spooky in their form of governance, it a weird Big Brother sort of process whereby they slink around and try to make people nervous. For instance, there are about 5 guards who constantly prowl the campus and like to stare at us, and our desks. I would hate to see what it was like with the red guard.
