China Fact- Surgery

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 17, 2010

By some estimates about 1 million cosmetic surgery operations are performed every year in China. This is an extraordinary leap from virtually no cosmetic surgery in the 1980s. At the No. 9 People’s Hospital in Shanghai, a double fold operation cost around $360. Breasts implants cost around $2,500. Facelifts and liposuction are also done. A woman who undergoes a Chinese version of an extreme makeover has her jaw slimed, eyes and nose sculpted and her breasts enlarged and lifted.

Expert Says Chinese are Horrible Lovers-Sex in China

Chinese are more ignorant about sex than any other subject, the Xinhua news agency quoted a sex expert as saying on Thursday.

“In the survey we conducted, not only youngsters but many grown-ups are sex idiots, which is really dangerous and woeful,” Xinhua quoted Xu Tianming, president of the China Sexology Society, as telling a seminar.

“More Chinese are ignorant about sex than about other knowledge, even including those having received higher education and experts of other fields,” he was quoted as saying.

Xu himself demonstrated a unique understanding of the subject, saying people could only enjoy a normal sex life until the age of 25. He added that meant teenagers should be allowed to socialise more freely with members of the opposite sex.

“Parents and society should allow them to have normal contacts with the opposite sex, such as dancing, and to read some books with certain sex descriptions,” Xu said.

Posted by w_thames_the_d on April 17, 2010

That is some pissed of Chinese people, and they want the guy’s head on a platter. Funny thing is that killing him is morally wrong, and useless, it is like putting a cube of sugar in the ocean as you believe it tastes too salty.

Municipality’s ex-police chief convicted of protecting gangs, rape and property scams

CHONGQING – Wen Qiang, former deputy police chief of Southwest China’s Chongqing municipality, was sentenced to death on Wednesday after being found guilty of protecting five organized gangs, accepting bribes, rape and property scams.

As former deputy director of Chongqing public security bureau from 1997 to 2008, following which he was appointed the director of the municipality’s justice bureau, Wen, 55, is the most senior official convicted in the gang-crushing operation that began last June.

Though Wen can appeal the sentence, about 200 local residents waiting outside the Chongqing No 5 Intermediate People’s Court rejoiced as they heard news of the verdict. “I’m so happy,” screamed 36-year-old Wang Meng after a man rushed out of the courtroom and announced the court’s verdict. “Death for Wen is justice served. We are satisfied,” Wang added.

SHENZHEN – The local trade unions federation has urged Foxconn Technology Group, the Taiwan-funded electronic manufacturing giant, to take care of the psychological needs of its huge number of young employees following a string of suicides.

The company, which makes popular products like the iPhone and the iPad for Apple, has been the subject of widespread criticism and speculation over its enterprise culture after six workers recently attempted to kill themselves, four of whom succeeded.

Immediate investigations by the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions found no breach of laws and that Foxconn had adopted “necessary and timely measures” following the incidents, Wang Tongxin, the federation’s vice-chairman, said at a press briefing on Tuesday.”
