Chinese Embarrassment- Neurosis in China

Chinese are very neurotic especially when you try to talk to them about history or hu.man rights and what not. They take much of what you say as an attack on the motherland, which irritates them to no end. Even if they are a really good friend, they are likely to misunderstand your intentions.

In China, they have it beaten into their heads that before the formation of communist China, (a great marketing plot by the chicoms), before the advent of communist china, they were the laughing stock of the world, seen as losers , ignorant and backwards. Many said this as they came to the newly open China, maybe that is part of the reason for the neurosis. But anyway, if you come, just tell them how great it is, how advanced they  are, and don’t say anything negative, you will have a great time.
