China Fact- In China a ‘Maybe’ is a ‘No’ and a ‘Yes’ is Sometimes a ‘No’

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 26, 2010

Mandarin has a way to say yes and no, dui and bu or bu dui, and also for maybe or perhpas, ke neng. The problem is that Chinese do not like to say ‘no’ so this word essentially becomes useless. Then, to add to this convention, they will often use perhaps, or maybe to mean no, confused? Good, so was I, but with my help, you will no longer be confused….

Here is a scenario in China, this happens on a daily basis.
I go to the laundy to get my clothes dry cleaned, the lady tells me that they can have it done in 3 days. I say this is unacceptable and I need it in 2 (this is actually rude as I am putting her on the spot). She will not say ‘no I cannot do that’, as by saying no, she is causing me to lose face, so she hints at it. She will hem and haw, and say “uh that is difficult, and that will take a lot of effort”. To me this means nothing as I think, ‘ok well all jobs take effort, so just get to it sis’. But what she is telling me is that she cannot do it, I am a westerner and do not understand, so I say “ok great, so I can have it in two days?” she looks down and says, “maybe”, i smile and walk away, return in two days and its not done. I am furious…

You Have Got to Be Shitting Me! – Public Defecation in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 26, 2010

See the lady? See her holding the kid? Yeah they are both Chinese, and the two folks next to them too. Oh yeah, see under the little kid, see that brown sludge, its feces (zoom in on the photo if you cant see it-its runny like diarrhea). The old lady is holding him up so that he can shit on a public sidewalk in Beijing. This is kind of Chinese life. They are either too tight to buy diapers or just don’t care, so this is what they do. Their kids have crotchless pants and when they have to poop or pee, they just stop and do it wherever they wish, to them it doesn’t matter.

This also happens to be the same spot where the little girl peed the other day, so maybe its like dogs marking their territory. But, if you look, the family seems pretty comfortable with this undertaking. They are searching for whatever it is that Chinese search through their bags, and waiting for the kid to stop defecating on a public sidewalk, so they can just carry on about their business.

China has historically been an agrarian country with a somewhat low level of education for the masses, some may argue this, but lets focus on the past 200-300 years and I think history will bear this out. In any event, as of late, they have tons more cash, but in their hearts, its still Hooterville and heehaw combines. The effect in China is like that of Texas during the gold rush, just find a bunch of hillbillies and throw cash at them. They may have money, but in their hearts, they are still nothing but hicks.

This photo typifies the China of today.

Crazy Chicom TV Revisited

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 26, 2010

This is modern day TV in China, its like their version of James Bond. I didnt really understand the show, but as far as I can see, the guy being tied up is the good guy and the guy doing the tying is a baddie. The guy on the left is probably of Japanese descent, and the guy on the right is Chinese. eventually, I believe, the Chinese guy will win and save the country and the world will be happy. No shit, this is Chinese TV

China Fact- China’s Housing Bubble, the Coming Collapse

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 26, 2010

In China there is speculation that there is a housing bubble. The speculaiton is that when it bursts, the Chinese economy will suffer like that of Japan in the 80’s. The chicoms like to say it doesnt exist, and international companies either, they just want to make money and hail the coming of China. This guy named Minxin Pei is a monster on China. He is Chinese but works for the Carnegie foundation and tells the shocking truth about many of the things that are happening here.
here is an excerpt of one of his blog posts:
“. Chinese authorities recently disclosed that, based on monthly readings of electric meters, 65 million housing units in Chinese cities register zero power usage, indicating that they are unoccupied. “

How Much is That Virgin in The Window- Operating for Virginity in China

Posted by w_thames_the_d on August 26, 2010

This is common in Asia, so of course China is no exception, especially with their proclivity for faking things. They have an operation, as described below, so that girls can repair their
hymen, so that their man will assume them a virgin. In the excerpt below, it is being performed on Chinese women over 20 who are looking to marry and their man wants a virgin…
I don’t know how important this is today, I mean to have a virgin and all, but I would say irrespective of whether or not she’d been tapped before, if a girl tells me shes a virgin, and can give a toe curling, white knuckler of a hummer, then I just have to assume that she’s been around the block before. …. or maybe its just me…

excerpt:
“Zhou, 44, said most of her patients are sexually active young women who are about to marry and have told their future husbands they are virgins. She said a smaller number want to forget a bad relationship and “start over,” and a few have been victims of rape.

Zhou is one of many Chinese doctors performing the procedure, which is also done in other countries. She said she restores as many as 20 hymens a month, and the number is increasing. For as little as 5,000 renminbi, or about $737, for a 20-to-30-minute procedure, Zhou is giving women a second chance at having a first time”
